The aim of the single-cycle degree course in CTF (PCT) is to provide students with an advanced level of multidisciplinary training for the pursuit of highly qualified activities in the field of pharmaceutical sciences. The multidisciplinary nature of the knowledge enables the graduate to enter various sectors of the pharmaceutical, nutraceutical-food, and cosmetic industry, as well as to work as a Pharmacist and Chemist, or to carry out professional activities in the pharmaceutical, pharmacological, and (bio)chemical fields. School teaching is not precluded. The training pathway aims to train a professional figure capable of operating in complex realities with adequate tools of critical knowledge, and analysis and with specific evaluation and implementation planning skills.

The contribution of computational methodologies to drug discovery is no longer a matter of dispute and the major world’s pharmaceutical and biotechnology companies use computational design tools. Computer-aided drug design comprises computational methods and resources that are used to facilitate the design and discovery of new therapeutic solutions. This summer school will cover all the main computational techniques used in drug discovery, supplying a basic level of knowledge of this research field.

The training, which aims at providing advanced methodological knowledge and scientific content in the pharmaceutical Sciences sector, includes theory and research, both centred on the design, synthesis, development and control of new biologically active compounds, new pharmaceutical forms, special foods, cosmetics, biocides and medical devices.

The master's degree program in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology (one curriculum out of 4 is fully taught in English) aims to prepare graduates who have advanced skills in the development and application of new scientific methodologies, who are able to actively participate in national and international study and research projects, and who possess in-depth skills in the scientific and technical-productive aspects of biotechnology applied to human health with particular reference to the design and engineering of innovative biotechnological drugs. The master's degree program in Pharmaceutical Biotechnology is structured into four curricula (three in italian and one in english).

The new Degree Course in Molecular Biology, Medicinal Chemistry and Computer Science for Pharmaceutical Applications is a three-year degree program of the L-29 Pharmaceutical Sciences and Technologies class entirely taught in English.

The Master Degree in Medical-pharmaceutical biotechnology provides an advanced scientific preparation on biotechnology topics oriented to medicine and pharmacology through the acquisition of integrated skills at the biochemical, biological-molecular and cellular levels.
