This three-year, part-time, interprofessional Master's programme in Primary Care Ophthalmology is taught entirely online. It is offered by The University of Edinburgh in partnership with the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh (RCSEd).

A master's degree in Veterinary Medicine (MMedVet) is a clinical specialty degree at NQF-level 9 of 360 credits to be completed in 3 years of full-time study as part of a residential training program. The training program consists of clinical work (at least 90 weeks of supervised clinical training), coursework, culminating in a multi-component examination (270 credits) and a research project resulting in a mini-dissertation (of 90 credits) and subsequent publications as required for SAVC registration as a specialist.

Graduates of the Medical Diagnostic Analysis BSc with Optometry Specialization program use their knowledge in optics to conduct the examination and correction of the eye independently and prescribe optical aids (eyeglasses, contact lenses) to obtain optimal visual acuity in patients.

This course is intended for orthoptists, or students who have completed a relevant degree, who wish to pursue a career in research or gain a competitive advantage in their career by completing an additional postgraduate qualification. Students gain research skills and expertise in their area of research interest, and demonstrate their outstanding academic ability and commitment to orthoptics through the completion of the degree.

The program is designed to develop the analytical thinking and problem-solving skills needed to be a successful scientist. The program emphasizes research in vision science that is determined by the student's interests and the graduate faculty's expertise.

The RCOphth Training Committee determines the content and structure of the training programme, which is then approved by the General Medical Council (GMC). The Training Committee is also responsible for making recommendations to the GMC about the eligibility of doctors for the award of the Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT) or Certificate of Eligibility for Specialist Registration (Combined Programme).

The Eyecare Specialist program at North-West College is a professional health care training course designed to provide the fundamental knowledge and education needed to work as a technical assistant under a doctor's supervision.

These courses provide the basic science knowledge needed to build upon in future years, for example, anatomy, physiology, optics, and vision science.

The MS/OD China Program is a unique joint degree program between Wenzhou Medical University (WMU) and the New England College of Optometry (NECO). Students who complete the program earn two degrees: the master of science and doctor of optometry degrees.
