The Systems Biology Master’s program is developed in collaboration with the Faculty of Medicine, Life Sciences Center, and the Faculty of Mathematics and Informatics. This interdisciplinary Master’s degree program prepares students to perform real-world work in rapidly developing fields including, but not limited to, biological systems modelling, bioengineering, synthetic biology, bioinformatics, neurobiology and data analysis. It is ideal for current and future biologists who wish to take advantage of the most powerful statistical models and programming tools, to produce quantifiable results in their field of choice.

Study programme aims at preparing professionals who would acquire the skills and knowledge to close the gap between engineering and medicine by combining the design and problem-solving skills of engineering with medical biological sciences and to advance health care services through the application of engineering principles and design concepts, innovative technologies and methods of multidisciplinary research.

The Pharmaceutical Chemistry programme is more involved with the pharmaceutical industry and research aspects than with a traditional pharmacist’s customer service and patient care responsibilities. The studies will provide a graduate with the professional skills to work in industrial companies that develop, produce, investigate and/or supply pharmaceutical products, or in research institutes, or to continue their studies in doctoral programmes in the fields of Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biotechnology or Medical Sciences.

A holder of a doctor’s professional qualification possesses adequate knowledge of the sciences on which medicine is based and a good understanding of the scientific methods; sufficient understanding of the structure, functions, and behaviour of healthy and sick persons, as well as relations between the state of health and physical and social surroundings of the human being; adequate knowledge of clinical disciplines and practices.
