Introduction
Master in Public Health is an international denomination that identifies the postgraduate training of a professional capable of facing health problems and their determinants from a population perspective; and trains to identify the health problems of the population; design and evaluate programs aimed at promoting health; design and implement clinical and epidemiological studies and evaluate the quality of health services.
Curriculum
A total of 78 ECTS are offered distributed in three modules during an academic year, of which 60 must be taken to obtain the title:
- Compulsory Subjects: 27 ECTS
- Optional Subjects: 15 ECTS
- Mandatory external internships: 6 ECTS
- Master's Final Project: 12 ECTS
The Master is taught semi-presentially. The compulsory subjects are face-to-face and are taught between mid-September and the end of December. The elective subjects will be distance learning, between the end of January and the beginning of May.
The first and second semester exams will be held one week after finishing each subject. In July there will be a second call. The Master's Thesis will be defended by students in the month of July or September, either in person or by videoconference.
The language of instruction is Spanish. The Academic Committee of the Master facilitates the incorporation of students with their native language English, French, Portuguese and Arabic by assigning them a tutor who speaks their language.
Program Outcome
Its objective is to provide high-level training with a multidisciplinary vision of biomedical and epidemiological sciences and methods of conception and management of health strategies, and modern health administration and management techniques, bringing together the tools, knowledge and techniques necessary for the development of professional practice.

The master's degree provides high-level training with a multidisciplinary vision of biomedical and epidemiological sciences and methods of conception and management of health strategies, with the aim of achieving better levels of health in the community.
The proposed master's degree will allow the training of MIR specialists in Preventive Medicine and Public Health as stated in ORDER SCO/1980/2005, of June 6, which approves and publishes the training program for the specialty of Preventive Medicine and Health. Public. Point 8.1 of the aforementioned order states that during the first year of residency, resident doctors will receive basic training in Preventive Medicine and Public Health through the Higher Course in Public Health. The skills and contents of this course correspond to those of the Master.
It also responds to the training needs in the field of Public Health of other health and non-health professions, such as Pharmacy, Veterinary Medicine, Dentistry, Nursing, Psychology, Sociology, etc.
