Introduction
The Master of Public Health (MPH) Degree at TUC trains students to become leaders in addressing current and emerging public health challenges. The MPH degree requires a 42-unit course of study, encompassing the five core disciplines of public health: Biostatistics, Epidemiology, Environmental Health Science, Health Policy and Management, and Social and Behavioral Sciences.
Students will also gain depth through coursework in a chosen specialized public health concentration in either Community Action for Health or Global Health and Health Equity and Criminal Justice. For the Culminating Experience, MPH students must complete a 400-hour field study, which integrates core skills and knowledge acquired during the Program’s didactic phase in a public health setting. The Public Health Program has successfully developed a collaboration with local departments of health, community organizations, and non-governmental organizations engaged in public health activities, which provide our students an abundant number of sites to gain field study experience.
