Once your graduate, you’ll be ready to develop and supervise laboratory testing used to diagnose and treat disease and to provide vital data for research studies. Your degree is also a great foundation for advanced degrees in medicine or science or for a career as a physician assistant.
Major Features

- Study, analyze experimentally, and interpret biological and chemical principles that are necessary to understand clinical laboratory applications.
- Effectively communicate in written form basic biological and chemical principles that are necessary to understand clinical applications.

Curriculum
A student must complete three BIO or CHEM lab courses by the end of sophomore year (with a C- or better). Not meeting these requirements would be considered a failure to progress and the student’s name will be sent to Academic Standing for review, at the discretion of the department.

- PSY 150 General Psychology
In the senior year, majors in allied health-medical technology must attend one of the hospitals affiliated with Thiel College, or any other hospital with an ASCP-approved program in medical technology for a year of clinical and classroom work.
The medical technology professional study year includes the following courses: clinical microbiology, clinical chemistry, clinical hematology/coagulation, clinical immuno-hematology, clinical immunology/serology, and clinical seminar. Thiel awards 32 credit hours for the professional study year when satisfactorily completed.
Career Opportunities
