The M.H.A program is designed to meet the needs of both working professionals in the field who are looking to advance their careers or change paths and recent graduates looking to get ahead in their careers. You can choose to take your courses online, on-campus, or a hybrid of both formats.
Our evening classes are small and designed for professionals looking to create connections with their classmates and professors. Work at your own pace by choosing one, two, or three courses per term.
Dual Degree Option
Saint Joseph’s University also offers the option to dual enroll in health administration and health informatics, allowing you to earn two master’s degrees with just 45 credits.
You’ll pursue administration-focused coursework across the areas of a healthcare organization, ethics, law, finance, and accounting. These courses will complement informatics-focused coursework, which includes studies in telehealth, remote patient monitoring, clinical quality measurement, and understanding the unique security challenges of a digital healthcare environment.

Saint Joseph's online M.H.A program features a curriculum designed to provide the technical and behavioral competencies as defined by the Health Leadership Competency Model, Version 2, developed by the National Center for Healthcare Leadership.
Curriculum
The M.H.A. program at Saint Joseph's University offers a core curriculum focusing on population and status assessment, health policy, organization development, operations and information systems, legal principles, leadership, and more. The M.S. in Health Administration consists of two tracks:
- General track of 12 courses (36 credits)
- Organizational Development and Leadership track of 14 courses (42 credits)
Organization Development and Leadership Track
The concentration in Organization Development and Leadership (ODL) is designed to enhance skills in managing and developing healthy organizational culture. The Organization Development and Leadership Concentration requires the completion of 14 courses (42 credits); 10 core courses from the HAD program and four courses from the ODL program.
Health Administration and Health Informatics M.H.A/M.S. Dual Degree
The dual degree in health administration and health informatics can be completed in just 45 credits. You will take core courses in both health administration (general track) as well as health informatics.
