Students are admitted directly into the nursing program as first-year students, assuring their placement in the nursing program. Hands-on clinical experiences begin the sophomore year. NCLEX-RN pass rates continue to rise well above state and national averages.

Fundamentals of Nursing Practice, where you will learn the foundations and principles of nursing practice; Women’s Health, Maternal and Newborn Nursing, a course that utilizes primary health are and family-centered framework to study maternal-newborn nursing and women’s health nursing; and Transition into Professional Nursing Practice, the senior capstone course that focuses on critical thinking and decision making for transition to professional practice.

The Lienhard School of Nursing ensures that clinical and simulation laboratory experiences are a primary component of the student experience. Our Center for Excellence in Healthcare Simulation is a 10,000 sq. ft. facility with fully equipped state-of-the-art simulation suites, high fidelity patient manikins designed to mimic human behavior, as well as task trainers and standardized patients (actors) to provide students with a real-world experience to practice skills and gain clinical confidence before heading out into the field. In our program, students will complete over 700 hours of clinical in a variety of areas, such as behavioral health, maternal and women’s health, pediatrics, acute, chronic, and critical care.
In the final semester, students complete a capstone experience in a unique one-to-one preceptorship with a working registered nurse. This final preceptorship may occur in one of many specialties, including the emergency department, ICU, oncology, operating room, NICU, and many more. Students build skills and confidence in the Center for Excellence in Healthcare Simulation.

The baccalaureate degree in Nursing, master’s degree in Nursing, Certificate of Advanced Graduate Studies, and Doctor of Nursing Practice at Pace University are accredited by The Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education.

The School provides student-centered learning experiences that foster civic, social, and professional responsibility to embrace the challenges of the future.
The undergraduate nursing program (RN4) is a full-time, 123-credit baccalaureate program on the Pleasantville campus. Students begin their first nursing course (NURS 110: Essentials of Professional Nursing) in their Freshman year, second semester, simulated clinical (NURS 202: Fundamentals of Nursing Practice) in their Sophomore year, first semester, and their first off-campus clinical (NURS 360: Medical & Surgical Nursing) in Sophomore year, second semester.
Degree Completion Criteria
RN4 Students must maintain the following in order to complete their Baccalaureate Degree:
- Maintain a CQPA of 2.75 or higher throughout the program
- Pass all prerequisite science (BIO 152, BIO 153, BIO 254, CHE 113) and required core (MAT 134, PSY 112) courses with a B- or higher
- Pass all nursing major core courses (including approved nursing electives) with a B- or higher
- Maintain health compliance (health assessment, immunizations, CPR, criminal background check, drug screening, and additional requirements as advised) for clinical eligibility.

Pace's comprehensive student financial assistance program includes scholarships, graduate assistantships, student loans (federal and alternative plans), and tuition payment plans. Pace participates in all major federal and state financial aid programs such as Direct Loans, New York State Tuition Assistance Program (TAP), Perkins Loan, and Federal Work-Study. All students are encouraged to apply for these programs by filing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), which can be obtained from any of the University's Financial Aid Offices.
