Introduction

The King University online Post-MSN Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate builds upon your MSN education and prepares you to practice as a Family Nurse Practitioner. It is designed to be completed in 16 months on a full-time schedule. Nursing faculty will conduct a gap analysis to ensure courses completed in your MSN degree are applicable to the post-MSN FNP certificate.

Coursework is delivered in a flexible online format designed for working nurses with busy schedules. Our cohort-based program design ensures collaboration with your peers and our experienced nursing faculty members. You will explore topics like advanced pharmacology, care of women and families, practice management, and more. In addition, you will complete 600 clinical practicum hours under the guidance of a faculty member and a practice-based, faculty-approved preceptor.

After finishing the program, you will be eligible for the FNP national certification exam through the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC) or the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). An unencumbered RN license and an MSN degree from an ACEN- or CCNE-accredited school are required for admission to this program.
