The Ohio University Post Graduate Adult Gerontology-Acute Care Nurse Practitioner (AG-ACNP) Certificate is for those who already hold a Master's degree in nursing and seek to attain the advanced practice role of the AG-ACNP. The University Master's Program in Aging constitutes an offer to the members of all the Degrees or Degrees for their academic and research training in different areas (health, educational, sociocultural, ethical-legal and management) involved in the study of human aging. Subject of great interest, given the progressive increase in the elderly population as well as the increasingly frequent displacement of care corresponding to the field of professionals. Hence, multidisciplinary knowledge is essential to provide a solution to the fundamental needs of this population; demand that will continue to grow in the immediate future since our Region constitutes a place of choice for the tourism of the third age as well as a stable residence for many elderly foreign citizens, and for the considerable deficits of attention structures that make the initiatives very significant community service provision, as well as the generation of programs to achieve a healthy old age, avoiding the uprooting of the elderly person from their environment and reducing their possible institutionalization.

This program is offered primarily online, however, during the first semester, students will attend a hands-on skills demonstration and simulation weekend on campus. During those three eight-hour sessions, students will navigate different acute care stations and scenarios with access to critical care materials to practice and demonstrate competencies in caring for acute care patients.

The Master's Degree in Psycho-Oncology and Palliative Care responds to the needs of health professionals to have theoretical and practical tools to improve the care of patients and their families. The program delves in depth, firstly, into the subdiscipline of oncology from the psychological perspective; and secondly, into palliative care.

The overall aim of the programme is to provide registered nurses with the opportunity to enhance previously acquired professional education and develop critical inquiry, knowledge and skills, attributes and competencies in preparation for developing roles within older person nursing. Successful completion of year 1 (Graduate Diploma) will provide students with the academic qualifications necessary to be considered for Clinical Nurse Specialist posts. Successful completion of year 2 (MSc) will provide students with the academic qualifications to be considered for Advanced Nursing Practice posts. The programme provides opportunities to explore research as evidence for enhancing and changing practice. The programme also provides opportunities for nurses to develop critical thinking and reflective skills at specialist and advanced practice levels. The programme will develop professional qualities and a high level of competence in the promotion of excellence and current best practice in the delivery and appraisal of advancing practice in older person nursing.

This doctoral program offers a space for advanced training in the field of studies on demographic aging and longevity through the scientific perspective of the Social Sciences. In this sense, it is configured as a cycle of studies that aggregates different disciplinary areas, seeking to capitalize on their similarities, but also their differences, in an approach focused on complementarities, which are assumed to be fundamental for understanding a multidimensional phenomenon such as demographic aging and longevity.

In Therapeutic Physical Activity for People with Chronic Pathology, Aging, or Disability with Physiotherapists specialized in work in care centers, public or private, that develop or want to start rehabilitation programs based on the practice of therapeutic physical exercise. Physiotherapists specialize in working in health centers and gyms that include chronic patients in their training programs.

The Doctoral Program in Gerontology and Geriatrics (UP/UA) specializes in training professionals for direct intervention, policy-making, service planning, and research with aging populations. The program focuses on analyzing aging and longevity, acquiring research skills, addressing health, psychological, and social needs, and conducting original research to advance knowledge in the field.
