This Master's is designed to provide the development of the skills required for a Master in One Health in a student-centered learning environment, adapted and supported by digital tools, in line with the European Union Digital Education Action Plan 2021-2027.

To provide students with the knowledge and skills to conduct independent research through advanced scientific problem-solving skills, and the application of critical and reflective thinking in the field of Environmental Health.

The Master's course in Environment and Health aims to train professionals with skills to assess and understand the fundamental interrelationships between the natural and humanized environment and health, providing future Masters with knowledge and skills to: define priorities in the area of environmental health; critically discuss the principles of analysis for decision making and their application to the integrated assessment of environmental and health risk; to consolidate knowledge and experience in environmental health management and prevention; and mobilize knowledge that enables integration in research and professional activities in the subject of environment and health.

The purpose of this qualification is to provide qualifying students with analytical specific problem solving and reflective competencies at an advanced academic level culminating in the production of a thesis in the field of Environmental Health.

Taught by internationally respected researchers, this one-year programme is designed to meet the needs of conservators and science graduates wishing to expand into the exciting fields of the conservation and heritage sciences. With a focus on thought processes rather than knowledge, our aim is to produce problem-solvers and critical thinkers who can design and execute robust research which advances understanding in the sector.

The Master of Science (ScM) in Environmental Health is intended for individuals with a strong interest in pursuing research in one of the various areas within environmental health. Typically, these students have prior hands-on experience in laboratory, field, or population-based investigations that they would like to build upon. The ScM thesis is based on original research carried out by the student under the direction of a faculty adviser. Graduates of the program are well-prepared to transition directly into opportunities for further training and research through doctoral degree programs in their primary areas of interest. For those wishing to apply their knowledge and research skills in the field of environmental health prior to pursuing advanced degrees, the ScM will position graduates to compete for research positions in the private sector, federal agencies, and non-governmental organizations.
