Biomedical science is concerned with the detailed study of the human body, both in health and disease, with emphasis on the diagnosis and understanding of disease states and the mechanisms involved.

The higher apprenticeship is delivered as a blended course. Most material will be in the form of directed self-learning via the university e-learning platform, Moodle, and face-to-face teaching held over the summer.

Accredited by the Institute of Biomedical Science (IBMS), our BSc (Hons) Biomedical Science will cover broad biological principles relating to the normal function of the human body as well as up-to-date training in medical and disease-related topics including pathophysiology, cell pathology, clinical immunology, haematology, microbiology and genetics.
