An associate degree is an undergraduate degree that typically takes two years to complete. This degree offers more education than a high school diploma but less than a bachelor’s degree. An associate degree is referred to as different names in countries around the world.
What is an associate degree in medical assisting? An Associates in Medical Assisting is a course of study that prepares students to take the certification exam for medical assistants. Students gain technical knowledge regarding hematology, venipuncture, urinalysis and microbiology. These courses will help students gain proficiency in patient care, assisting with medical procedures and charting. Students are usually able to focus on a medical area that interests them, such as phlebotomy, medical insurance, coding, ECG and patient care.
