4 Bachelor Programs in Biotechnology 2024

The aim of theBiotechnologyundergraduate programme is to empower specialists to develop intellectual competencies in order to be capable to participate in research advancements, to take responsibility in research and practice developments as well as disseminating knowledge.

The degree program in Biotechnology aims to provide graduates with a solid basic biological background that allows an interpretation of biological reality from a predominantly molecular and cellular perspective, without neglecting systemic aspects.

The Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology is an interdisciplinary program that provides a strong academic foundation in biological sciences and chemistry, practical training in the various biotechnologies and a solid understanding of their application in industry and biomedicine. The science of biotechnology extends across many areas of biology and chemistry and provides cutting-edge technology tools for modern biology and biomedical research. The curriculum includes a research experience at Kent State and/or an internship at a biotechnology company.

Honours Bachelor of Applied Technology is a four-year degree program with a mandatory co-op component. Students will develop skills in experimental design, statistical data analysis, bioinformatics, and handling microbial, plant, and animal material for genetic analysis. Graduates of this program will feel confident entering the workforce after completing a four-month co-op program to develop the necessary interpersonal and communication skills.
